On Monday, June 2, 2011, the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund, Inc. (KSEF) presented scholarship awards to District of Columbia High School and District of Columbia Charter School graduating seniors. The awards presentation was hosted, for the tenth year, by the American Federation of Teachers at its' headquarters, 555 New Jersey Avenue, NW; Washington, DC.
This year, awards were given to 41 students, each receiving a 4-year $1,000 scholarship, for a total of $164,000. Since the fund’s founding in 1984, KSEF has awarded over 469 scholarships for a total of over $1,000,000.
The Celebrity Auction and Soul Food Feast which is held annually in the Fall on the Howard University campus, is our major fundraising event. Over 700 supporters attend this event which has sold out each of the previous 28 years. Many individuals and businesses donate gifts that are auctioned at our silent and live auctions.
On Sunday November 4, 2012 KSEF will conduct its’ 29th Annual Celebrity Auction and Soul Food Feast at the Armour J. Blackburn Center on the campus of Howard University, in Washington, DC.
